Due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic I am offering a reduced price for telephone or Skype sessions. Please contact me if this may be of interest. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer any face-to-face counselling at this time.
People usually seek Counselling or Psychotherapy because something isn't right in their lives, often after speaking to a relative, friend, a Doctor or even a manager at work. Perhaps you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or low self-worth. Are you short-tempered, easily distracted, weepy, struggling to sleep or just feeling uneasy and want someone to talk to?
As a counsellor my role is to help you explore the things that put these barriers in your life. It is stumbling blocks, such as these that stop you making the changes that you want to make in life. I can support you to begin the process of healing. To find ways towards a happier more contented life.
“But I’ve never had Counselling or Psychotherapy before.”
Are you worried about Counselling or Psychotherapy? - That is perfectly normal!
Person Centred Therapy is very gentle and non-directive, I will merely come alongside you, sit with you, offering you a safe place to explore your thoughts and feelings and support you to find a way to therapeutically manage your areas of concern and move forward.
There is no right or wrong way for you to be in the session. I invite you to come, and be you, as you are, and how you feel at that time. One session may be completely different to the next and that is absolutely fine.
We all need some time out, time to ponder, whether it be big or small, if it matters to you we can explore it.
Perhaps you just need to tell someone, to hear the words then you can move on. I will listen to you, and hear you, respectfully and without judgement. This process is often healing and empowering in itself. Bringing about a sense of peace, clarity, 'as if a weight has been lifted'.
Perhaps you're feeling stuck, having lost interest in hobbies, feeling as though you have let yourself and others down, Are you concerned by how you are coping? Are your coping mechanisms causing you anxiety or conflict in your relationships - Maybe it's time to explore and understand them?
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change”.

During our first session, I will ask you some background questions. You will also have the opportunity to tell me about the issues you are facing and for us to get a general sense of whether we can work together.
